Loenvatn Feriesenter is well located at Lovatnet, about 4 Km from Loen. Here is a cottage rental, cafe and kiosk. We also rent out fishing gear, boats w / motor and canoe. All the cabins are equipped with shower and WC, kitchenware, duvets and pillows. Open monday-sunday, from 12:00 to 22:00
Loenvatn Feriesenter is a second generation family-run business, currently run by Tor Arve Sande and Bodil Almening Sande.
Loen has many mountain hikes and walks to offer. There are many sign posted trails, including 10 exercise stops, of which Skåla is the most popular. This is also the most challenging hike, and it normally takes 4-5 hours to reach the peak at 1848 metres above sea level.
Another fascinating experience is the walk to Lodalskåpa, the highest peak of the Jostedal Glacier. In the company of experienced glacier guides it is possible to climb to 2083 metres above sea level.
You can rent a kayak and plan your own trip. We will be pleased to rent you a kayak, rowing boat or canoe here at the campsite.
Loenvatn Feriesenter is situated on Lovatnet, which stretches for many kilometres up Lodalen. Good trout fishing, with either net, otter board or rod. If you would like to fish for salmon, this is possible in Loelva further down the valley.
Stryn Sommarski is a very popular venue. The season varies from year to year but is typically from April/May to July/August. The ski centre lies between 1000 and 1600 metres above sea level, and is just over one hour’s drive from Loenvatn Feriesenter.
Why not take a bicycle trip up Lodalen? Many tourists enjoy cycling in the valley. The roads are good and not too steep. Bicycles can be hired from Loen Active.
Loen is situated close to the Jostedal Glacier, and you won’t have to travel far to see and experience the glacier arms. From Loen both the Kjenndal Glacier and Bødal Glacier are within easy reach. You can also walk on some of the glaciers.
